About your information
I run this myself, so privacy here is simple to explain. Below is everything I collect, why, and what I do with it. If anything is unclear, write to hello.unchartedtravel@gmail.com and I’ll answer personally.
What I collect
When you plan a trip with me, you’re taken to my trip-request form hosted on Tern, my travel-booking and client-management platform. There you give your name, email, and trip details (destination, dates, travelers, budget, and preferences) directly to Tern, which I use to design and book your trip. Tern handles that information under its own privacy terms.
When someone refers you through /refer, I receive their name, their email, the email of the friend they’re introducing, and any note they wrote.
I do not use cookies for tracking. The site has basic page-view analytics with no cross-site tracking and no third-party advertising identifiers.
Why I collect it
The trip details help me write a useful first reply and design an itinerary that fits you. Your email is so I can write back. That is the entire reason. I do not sell, share, rent, or trade your information with anyone.
Where it lives
Trip requests live in Tern, my travel-booking and client-management platform, where I design and book your trip. Referral details (below) are stored in a private database (Supabase) and mirrored into my private Notion workspace, and any referral emails go through Resend, a transactional email service.
The only people with access to this data are me and the technical services that run the site and my practice. I don’t sell, rent, or trade it, and no marketing tool or email-list provider has your information.
How long I keep it
I keep submissions indefinitely, because past trip notes are useful context if you come back. If you’d like me to delete yours, just write me and I will, usually the same day.
Asking me to delete it
Email hello.unchartedtravel@gmail.com from the address you originally submitted with, and ask. I’ll remove your information from Tern (and, for referrals, from the database and Notion), and reply to confirm.
Updates
If anything material changes about how I handle your information, I’ll update this page and write to anyone who has submitted within the last twelve months.
